This page explains how cookies work on Spinit, what information they store, and how you can control them. We keep this policy straightforward so you know exactly what happens when you visit this site.
How this site remembers you
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. It lets the site recognise you on your next visit and remember preferences like language settings or whether you've agreed to our terms. Cookies don't contain personal information like your name or address – they hold a unique identifier that links your browser to our server.
Some cookies last only as long as your browsing session and disappear when you close your browser. Others remain on your device for a set period, helping the site remember you between visits. We use both types to keep this portal functional and to understand how visitors use it.
The analytics question
Necessary cookies keep the site working properly. They manage your session, remember your consent choices, and ensure pages load correctly. You can't disable these without breaking core functionality.
Analytics cookies show us which pages get the most traffic, how long people stay, and which links they follow. We use this data to improve content and fix navigation issues. These cookies don't identify you personally – they count visits, not visitors. You can decline them through the consent banner when you first arrive.
Advertising and marketing cookies track your activity across sites to build a profile of your interests. Third-party networks use this data to show you targeted ads. We don't control what these partners collect once their scripts load, but you can refuse them via the banner or your browser settings.
Scripts we do not control
This portal embeds content from external services – analytics providers, advertising networks, and social media platforms. Each one may set its own cookies when their content loads on our pages. We list the main ones below, but the full picture depends on which third parties we work with at any given time.
| Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Traffic measurement and behaviour analysis | Up to 2 years |
| Advertising networks | Targeted ads based on browsing history | Varies by network |
| Social media widgets | Share buttons and embedded posts | Session or persistent |
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We can't answer for what they do with the data once it leaves our site, so check their documentation if you want the full terms.
Your options
You control cookies through two routes: the consent banner that appears when you first visit, and your browser's own settings. The banner lets you accept all cookies, reject optional ones, or pick categories individually. Your choice is stored so the banner doesn't reappear every time you load a page.
Managing cookies in your browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. Block third-party cookies or clear existing ones from the same menu.
- Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Choose standard, strict, or custom blocking, or delete cookies manually.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy. Tick "Block all cookies" to stop everything, or "Prevent cross-site tracking" to block third parties only.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions. Block or clear cookies, and toggle tracking prevention between basic, balanced, and strict.
Blocking all cookies stops analytics and ads but also breaks features that rely on session data. Most browsers let you whitelist specific sites so you can block tracking everywhere else without losing functionality here.
Declining without breaking the site
Refusing optional cookies means you won't see personalised ads and we won't track how you navigate the portal. The site itself still works – pages load, links function, and content displays normally. You just lose the tailored experience that analytics and marketing cookies provide.
Good to know: clearing cookies logs you out of any accounts you've signed into elsewhere and resets preferences you've saved. If the site suddenly forgets your language choice or consent decision, it's because those cookies have been deleted.
Revisions
We update this policy when our cookie use changes – adding a new analytics tool, dropping an old ad partner, or adjusting how long data is stored. The date at the bottom shows when the last update went live. We don't notify you individually about changes, so check back here if you want to stay current.
